Canoe: North Bridge
The North Bridge canoe trip,
in Old Forge, N.Y. will bring
you up close with the pristine
Adirondack scenery as you
paddle a kayak or canoe
the winding Moose River.
A casual four hour float down
The Moose River, you will find
several sandy beaches, which are
ideal for picnics, with the possibility
of spoting Deer, Beaver, Otter or
Great Blue Heron.
At the end of the paved road, you will
need to travel about a mile until the
first bridge, at this bridge, drop in,
float downward, and enjoy the beauty.
There is a short portage, which
you will have to carry your
canoe or kayak past some rapids.
After a 4 hour, leisure paddle,
you will end at route 28, on
the South side of Old Forge,
near the FastTrac store.
To make this trip more convenient,
rent and shuttle their kayaks or
canoes, which allows you to
float to where you park.
