Canoe: Lock & Dam
For a relaxing and enjoyable
canoe trip that can be fun
for the entire family, try the
Lock and Dam paddle.
The "green bridge" section of
the Moose River is a great place
to get out for an hour or two.
To get to the green bridge,
take a right off route 28 at
the Thendara Train Station &
continue to the end of the road,
take a right and the drop-in
is within a few hundred yards.
Once on the water,
paddle downstream through
"Thendara Lake"
Shortly after that you will hear
a rumbling waterfall, which is
actually an old dam
called "Lock & Dam"
Once here, you can swim,
picnic or just relax until
you decide to paddle back.
The entire paddle takes about
two hours at a leisurly pace
with some downtime at
"Lock & Dam"
